The latest offering from Supercell, Clash Royale is now available to download if you are in Canada and a few other countries. They have “soft launched” the game but no date yet for a full worldwide release. If you are a serious clasher then this game is directly targeted at you but it’s NOT Clash of Clans. So should you be downloading it?
Clash Royale is a real time multiplayer battle game. It’s got all your favorite characters from Clash of Clans but is a completely different concept and game. You pick your characters in a similar way to Plants Vs Zombies and deploy them in an arena to attack your opponents castles. If you are a fan of Plants Vs Zombies (who isn’t!) then this could be the game for you. It won’t replace either game but seems to be a perfect merger of the two and aimed specifically at clashers.
From the official Clash Royale website:
Collect and upgrade dozens of cards featuring the Clash of Clans troops, spells and defenses you know and love, as well as the Royales: Princes, Knights, Baby Dragons and more. Knock the enemy King and Princesses from their towers to defeat your opponents and win Trophies, Crowns and glory in the Arena. Form a Clan to share cards and build your very own battle community.
From what we’ve seen it looks pretty addictive and as it’s in the Clash of Clans universe fans of Clash will be snapping up Clash Royale as soon as it’s released. Supercell certainly know how to make an addictive game with Clash and Boom Beach both being huge hits due to the addictive nature of upgrading your base. Clash Royale however seems to be more focused on unlocking new cards to use in your attacks and new arenas.
